Wiccans are those who believe in a spiritual path that is based on the elements, those being Fire, Earth, Water and Air. The fifth element being the Spirit. In and of themselves, these do not denote evil or good. The way the energy is used denotes that. The Wiccan religion does not condone Satanists, never have and never will. Wiccans are simply people who believe that living in harmony with Mother Nature is the path for them. The entire religion is based on respect and love for oneself and the world. Wiccans strongly believe in conservation and eco-friendly living. The readings done by wiccans using tarot cards is called wiccan readings. Wiccan readings are usually conducted by those who have the ability and are willing to use it to help people. Not all wiccans can and will read for others. Wiccans believe in “The Power of Three and Harm None” meaning that whatever you do, good or bad, will come back to you threefold and that you should harm nobody in any way. In my personal, wonderful experience, readings can be one of the most tranquil experiences ever! A nice quiet room with soft lights and scented candles set against a backdrop of soft music is the ideal setting for readings. Most wiccans prefer to keep their reading rooms separate so as to keep it pure. Simple wiccan readings consist of a simple tarot spread. This essentially means that the spread is made up of just three cards set up side by side. The first card is the past, the second the present and the third is the future. Greater insight wiccan readings consists of five cards set up in a downward pointing V shape. The first three cards mean the same as in a simple three card setup. The fourth card means the environment that is affecting the person or situation. The fifth card means the result. A favorite tarot card deck used by many wiccans is the Motherpeace Tarot. In itself, it is a classic deck with all the minor and major arcana cards. However, it does replace the male dominated images with female images. It also has a much more relevant connection with modern life. In fact, the Motherpeace Tarot book is considered as one of the most important readings for wiccans all over. This is one of my personal favorites for wiccan readings. Another favorite to be used is the Celtic Tarot. Again, a classic deck with all the cards expected. This deck’s images are all linked to the Celtic way of looking at the world and leans very heavily towards Mother Nature.
