Trust has become an extremely important issue in today's culture. We get up at daybreak, swing our feet out over the floor and trust that our feet will meet with a sold structure underneath them. If we get an electrical appliance, like a can opener, we trust that it won't explode when we stick the plug in the wall. We might trust a friend with something valuable, that stores will take paper money for products, and that the post office will get our packages delivered. What is the meaning of trust and is it something that can be reclaimed? There are those who think that once trust is lost that it's gone for good. If that is correct, isn't that incredibly limiting? Each of us has performed some act that would have possibly been immoral enough for others to lose trust in us. Is getting late to some event grounds for completely losing trust that we can be punctual? How may we possibly ever earn trust in us back again from other people? What is it that makes trust what it is - that "believing" something will likely be a certain way? Maybe it's watching something happen over and over that causes a person to trust that it will be done the same way. However, in the instance of being late to an appointment. Is it possible for trust in you to be reclaimed? I'm not one hundred percent certain that trust can truly be regained. I'm open to the idea, because it sure would be nice if it could. I have investigated some ways and looked for some sources of information on the subject. I found a few books that seem to have pertinent information and I saw some research on understanding principles and morals. There are also some training courses offered through corporations like NXIVM and Executive Success Programs, a friend of mine mentioned they give you tools to improve your own trustworthiness! A trust problem can begin inside yourself, meaning that you hold yourself responsible for completing something you promised to do. My friend said that he had to begin with himself and that she's used mutual trust to create and maintain relationships and has discovered that regaining trust has to be done one step at a time. If these resources may help restore that confidence in something or someone, it's worth checking out, I trust.
