ADHD Questionnaire - Questions To Ask Yourself

Without the help of an ADHD questionnaire, many adults actually live with undiagnosed attention deficit hyperactivity, without realizing they even have it. Often they notice that they have a tough time finishing tasks, focusing, and remembering different things, but they never think twice about it. If you are dealing with some of these symptoms, you may be dealing with ADHD and you don't have to go on thinking that there is nothing you can do about these problems that have been cropping up in your life.

When you are dealing with undiagnosed ADHD, you may find that you are dealing with significant stress in your life because you are having such a tough time concentrating. Even those diagnosed with the disorder may feel stressed with the problems they encounter if they are not getting the proper treatment. How can you know whether you may have ADHD? How can you figure out how this disorder is actually affecting your life? An ADHD questionnaire can help. Here are some questions you can ask yourself to find out the answers to some of your questions.

Question #1 - How often do you have problems organizing things when your task requires you to be organized?

Many people who have ADHD end up having a tough time staying organized. It can be frustrating to have problems getting organized so you can complete a task. If you have this problem only occasionally, then you may not have ADHD. However, if you deal with this on a regular basis, there is a good chance you may have this disorder. You should talk to your physician about the problem if you haven't been diagnosed and treated.

Question #2 - How often do you delay or avoid a task that requires quite a bit of thought from you?

When a task requires a lot of thought, people suffering from ADHD often find that they put off the task or avoid it altogether because it is tough to take the time to think about the task too much. If you notice yourself putting of tasks when they require a lot of thought, this can be a sign that you are being affected by ADHD.

Question #3 - How often do you get out of your seat in situations where you are supposed to stay seated?

Sometimes it's easy to stay seated when you have ADHD. Even though you know you shouldn't stand up, you do it anyway and then get frustrated with yourself. Is this occurring on a regular basis? If you already have ADHD, you may need further treatment. If you're not diagnosed with ADHD and you deal with this problem on a regular basis, you should see your doctor.

Question #4 - How often does noise or activity around you distract you?

Everyone can be distracted by noise or by activities going on around you. However, most people only deal with this distraction from time to time. If you have a tough time concentrating because you are constantly distracted by what is going on around you, ADHD may be causing this problem.

Question #5 - How often do you end up feeling fidgety or restless?

If you are fidgety or restless on a regular basis, this too can be a sign of ADHD. It's fine to feel this way from time to time, but it is not normal for it to occur very often. For those dealing with ADHD, answering this question can help you to figure out how well your current treatment is working. If you still feel fidgety or restless all the time, your treatment option may not be working the way it should.

Talking to your doctor is the right course of action if you have experienced many of these problems noted on the ADHD questionnaire on a regular basis and you're not diagnosed with ADHD. If you have ADHD and you're still dealing with all these problems, it may be time to consider another treatment.
