Being a student can be difficult at times and there are so many things that you need to be thinking about and to sure that you are keeping on top of. For most students out there it is the first time that they have every lived away from home, so having to do things for themselves can seem a bit daunting at first. They will have to start doing things for themselves and will not be able to rely on their mum to do everything for them anymore. One thing that they will have to think about is making sure that they manage their time effectively. They will have so much going on and will have to make sure that they don’t forget about all of the work that they have to do as well. Going out is going to be something which is important and they have to make sure that they have a good social life and meet new people, but its always important to remember to not let this get in the way of their studies and to encourage them to keep on top of their work. A good tip to offer up at the start of the year is that spending the time making sure that they know when all their deadlines are going to be and writing these all down will help later on. By doing this they will be able to tick jobs off their list when they have done something and will therefore see what else it is they are going to need to do. Also, it’s important that all students make sure that they attend all of their lectures and seminars. It can be so easy to get into the habit of skipping lecture and will often spend their time in bed instead, but once you get into this habit it can be difficult to break. Most universities now have interactive whiteboards fitted in their classrooms which enable students to really take part in the lectures that they attend. They are good for keeping up the concentration of the students and this means that the lessons keep their mind working.
