It seems that every time we go to the supermarket for our weekly shop the cost of groceries rises. With the tough economic climate, we're all looking for ways to save money wherever possible. Thankfully, it's easy to save cash if you use the right strategies and online coupons for groceries. Collate Your Coupons Traditionally, most people scour the daily newspaper for discount grocery coupons, and this is still a worthwhile thing to do to save money. But in recent times the number of sites offering coupons online has grown enormously. It's now possible to find coupons for nearly everything online and the good thing is you can print as many as you like without having to pay the cost of a newspaper each time! Plan The Shop Once you have your coupons for the week, look through your local supermarket brochures to find what items are on sale. From this, try and plan your meals and other purchases around these sale items. Coupons pack more of a punch when an item is on sale. The other benefit of planning ahead is that you're less likely to impulse buy. Learn Your Supermarket's Tactics If you study the sale brochures of your supermarket, over time you'll notice that sale items occur cyclically. For example, you might find that your supermarket puts a certain brand of bread on sale every four weeks, or that once a month your favourite condiment is sold as a two-for-one offer. Once you learn the patterns, you can plan your meals better and combine the savings with your coupons. You don't need to buy a year's worth, just enough to get you to the next sale. Be Less Picky About Brands If you're trying to save money you're going to have to get over the idea that with particular brands come a particular "social standing". In some instances store brands are just as good quality as name brands, and in fact a lot are made by the same manufacturers. Always buy the brand that's on sale and has a coupon. This will save you a great deal of money over the course of a year. Coupon for groceries
