Some of the common brand whose watches were popular during that time is Minerva, Lecoultre etc. It was in 20 the century all these watch manufacturing companies were given certificate for continuing with their watch manufacturing task. It was since then different design of watches was designed. But with the advancement of technology you get the wrist watch. After the wrist watch came people like to wear the wrist watch rather than the pocket watch. After 20th century the popularity of the pocket watches reduced and because of this these type of watches you will found now a day in the museum. But now the popularity of this type of watch is also increasing and because of this latest technology is used for designing the pocket watch. This type of watch you can present to your father, brother, uncle, husband. Fiancé etc in any occasion like anniversary, wedding, birthday etc. The pocket watch that was made during 1950 was very heavy as they were made up of iron. With the coming up of new technology different types of watches were designed. The weight of the pocket watch also reduced. In the earlier days this type of watches used to come in big size but gradually the size of the watch reduced and you get a small dial pocket watch. The pocket watches were very expensive in the earlier days as this type of watches was made up of gold, silver etc. But now a day stainless steel is used for making the watch. Because of this the price of the watch also reduced and the weight of the watch is also less. The pocket watches that are designed now a day are very simple in their look and they also had an elegant look. The chain that comes with the watch you can fix it with your shirt button hole. You can easily keep this type of watch in the bag and purse or your pocket. The features and the inner technology of the watches also changed. The antiques pocket watches can be found by you in the museum. The price of the old pocket watch is also very high compared to the new watches. This type of watch now a day comes with different features in it. In the earlier days the pocket watches were worn by famous personality like Abraham Lincoln etc.
