If you have a RC helicopter in your house then you might have also thought about these two options. The options are; whether an electric powered helicopter is good or a fuel powered helicopter. Well, in this article, we will consider the properties of both these helicopters and try to make a decision about which one of these is best to buy. Properties of Electric powered radio control helicopters When it comes to electric powered helicopters then the first thing that you should keep in your mind is that, these use lithium ion batteries in them that can be recharged. So, you will need to recharge the battery of your helicopter before flying it or operating it in the air. Normally, these helicopters can be charged in a few hours and that charging is sufficient for a 30 – 50 minutes flying. Although, some new radio control helicopters are offering even more flying time. This is a cost effective way for everyone. Properties of Fuel Powered radio control helicopters Now, let’s talk about the properties of those radio control helicopters that run on fuel/ gas. Well, we all use those cars in our daily life that use fuel/ gas so using a RC helicopter using fuel is not a big issue for anyone. There is no electric power required to use these helicopters as all you need to do is to fill them with fuel. Once you will fill the fuel in them with full capacity, these helicopters will be capable of flying for next 50 – 80 minutes. This time is quite more as compared to the flying time of electric powered helicopters. However, in some regions of the world, fuel is more expensive as compared to oil/ gas. Finally, we can say that an electric powered RC helicopter will be preferred upon a fuel powered RC helicopter when it comes to the cost of flying. However, if we talk about the turnaround time or the flying time then fuel powered radio control helicopters are best. If I have to make a decision here then I will definitely consider my facilities first. If electricity is cheap for me then I will prefer buying electric powered helicopters but if fuel is cheap for me then I will buy fuel powered helicopters.
