The design came about as a way of trying to protect the glass of the watch from breaking incase it were to fall or get hit by something. These watches were unique in that you could only store them inside your pocket and thus the term pocket watches. But as technology advanced and other watch designs were introduced into the market, these kinds of watches slowly became outdated until recently. They managed to make a comeback through the Steampunk culture that embraces the Victorian era where such watches were mostly worn. Since their comeback, below are the various ways through which we can wear them. You can wear the pocket watches as part of your necklace. Since most people, especially women are into wearing necklaces with reasonably big pendants, you could use these watches as part of your necklace. You just want to find the right kind of necklace that will support the weight of the watch as it hangs around your neck. The watch needs to be low enough for you to be able to look at the time but if you are just wearing it as an accessories rather than a watch, they you can tie it to the length you feel will suit you best. One can also use the pocket watches as part of their bracelets. Since bracelets are worn around the wrist, then you want to find a smaller kind of watch rather than big ones that will make you look ridiculous. The smaller the size the better it will fit around your wrist and still manage to pull out the look. Another way to wear such watches will be around the waist. You can have a belt custom made to have a fitting for the watch or you can easily let one hang through a chain that is fasten to your trousers. The waist look will look better with boys than with girls. This is because they wear their jeans much lower thus people will be in a position to notice the watches.
