Ever since the information technology has drastically changed, legacy system became obsolete. The sudden shift in technology is influenced by many reasons. The first reason is the size and age of the machine. Basically, legacy systems are large and old device which most business owners get confused on how to operate the system and it is has a very complex operating system but most financial institutions refuse to replace the existing legacy system in order to avoid problems in transferring data from a database to another database. In fact, some business firms consider that the system is still important in the maintaining the flow of the main process. There are ways to efficiently work while knowing the impact of the fast-paced technology and excellently complying with the given requirements. Most computer engineers suggest legacy migration in transforming an old system in to a new one. Software conversions are available everywhere from Internet downloads to licensed software distributors. The process of migration strategies can be obtained by successfully drifting the legacy system by obtaining the code. Legacy migration can help legacy system in adapting to the new system that is imposed by the IT department to make the existing structure faster and reliable. Migration software users can choose from a variety of software such as java, COBOL, and VB. In utilizing a legacy migration, legacy system can be upgraded or combined to create a new structure out of an old system where the old data can still be accessed by the users. The scope of conversion is important by obtaining the conversion code. The process may include knowing the broken links and reports to assess the integration whether it has been successful. If there are broken links and reports, the financial firm must have a detailed plan to rebuild and administer a test during migration to assess the strategic legacy system migration. The financial firm must adjust to the end system migration because it requires having an upgraded data file in reviewing the affected essential information within the new system. It is a part of the strategy in securing the safety of all data in the old legacy system from unauthorized access. There are cases of delinquency that causes some information cracks which requires the need of retrieving the data. It is also a good idea to build a specific confirmation access such as password protection reviews to match the open data files in order to protect the new legacy systems archived data from unauthorized person.
