This is a medical emergency.
Meningitis could be the inflammation of the meninges, the coverings of the brain: dura, arachnoid, and pia. It carries a high mortality rate despite professional medical advances.

Terminologies
Recurrence is due to reinfection with the same or different bacterial species rather then to persistence of the original infection.
- Recrudescence means the reappearance, during treatments, of findings of meningitis in addition to a positive cerebrospinal fluid culture after a first clinical response and sterilization of the cerebrospinal fluid.
- Relapse: reappearance of bacterial meningitis inside 3 weeks after completion in the initial course of treatments.
Both recrudescence and relapse are caused by the same organism isolated in the initial episode, and both represent persistence in the initial infection rather as compared to reinfection.
Causative Microorganisms
Your causative organisms of severe bacterial meningitis are clearly associated with the age of the affected individual. The common organisms in each age group are as detailed below:
Neonatal time period: Escherichia coli, group N streptococci (S. agalactiae), and L. monocytogenes.
Ages 2 months to 5 years: H. influenzae
aeruginosa, enteric gram-negative bacilli, and S. aureus (with neutropenic patients).
Clinical Features
The clinical features of acute bacterial meningitis vary with the age and immune status in the patient.
Children may present with temperature, convulsions, refusal of feeds, irritability, excessive cry together with vomiting.
People may present with temperature, headache, vomiting, lethargy, distress, and a stiff neck.
4. Enter into the best-possible physical condition before your surgery. The healthier you will be going into your surgery, the faster your entire body will heal afterward.
5. Stay away from sitting, standing or lying in any single position for too long, which can contribute to aches and pains and can hinder therapeutic. Instead, keep changing entire body positions every 10 : 20 minutes during waking up hours.
6. Avoid any heavy lifting and pushing of large objects.
7. When rising using bed, lift your head as much as you can off to your pillow, then swing ones legs out.

Increased intracranial Tension
