In this day age a lot of people are looking to make quick money. One way to make a lot of money from the convenience of your own home is by joining the field of medical transcription. It is seen that most companies like to hire MT's that have previous in-house experience (meaning they want someone who has worked in a hospital or clinic) before they will hire someone to work at home. Many ask for applicants with at least a year or two of experience working in a clinic or hospital. Some of the reasons hospitals in Europe and America are choosing to outsource this work to countries like Turkey, India and China are because they then fall relatively cheaper. They do not have to set up their own department of medical transcriptors and they do not have to set up an office for them to function under. Also with the conversion rate of currency and the fact that labor is cheaper in the East are other reasons why they choose to outsource this work. There is another way in which medical transcription works. This method although relatively new is ready to take the entire medical world by storm. Basically all a doctor has to do now is record the transcription into a voice recorder like they had done previously and then he has to connect this device to a computer. However instead of a person now transcribing it; he uses software online that transcribes the prescription into a word format for him. This is much cheaper than actually hiring someone to do it for you. However there are a few problems with this method, the biggest one being that the doctor may have to edit the document that computer provides. It may not always be accurate and this may add to the doctor’s work load.
