Disasters can take place anytime, anywhere. In many cases, disasters are weather related, and may compel one to leave the area. However, very often, a person may require staying indoors because of them. What if you were stuck at home for weeks without city facilities? What would be your emergency plan? An emergency preparedness service is something that anyone may need, anytime. It can be in the form of services, as well as products that help individuals survive when they are short of their basic amenities. When it comes to disaster management services, people need to be farsighted, and look for ways to survive in those tough times. There are quite a lot of companies that offer an emergency preparedness service to hospitals, offices, and schools that improve readiness in preparing, and responding to any hazards. Their programs are mainly based on The Joint Commission Management Standards, and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) concepts and principles. They evaluate the entire emergency management program, and help in creating a response and assessment teams. Having a resourceful emergency preparedness service is a wise thing to do, as it alerts the concerned services immediately in case of an urgent situation, which can leave others helpless. Partly being prepared for problems is to have sufficient food on hand, if it’s not possible to venture out or make it to the nearby super market or grocery store. It is easy for a lot of people to stock their cupboards and pantries in order to have enough food that would last a few days, in case it is required. Quite a lot of families these days are admonished regarding having a plan, when it comes to crisis or any calamity. They need to go over a fire escape plan with their kids to ensure that everybody makes it out safely if ever, there’s a fire in the home. The entire family needs to practice all the procedures for escape. This can be personal for every family depending on their situation. Two years ago, there was a television commercial for Life Line that showed a woman falling in the bathtub, when alone at home. She tries to get up, somehow cannot. Luckily, her daughter comes over, and sees her in such a helpless situation, and runs to get help. The women when fully recovered stated that she has signed up for an emergency preparedness service, who will be alerted in case of a fall or any other crisis situation.
