Important Nutrients to Reduce the Risk of Breast Cancer It is a well known fact that people with higher cancer rates have different food choices as compare to the others with lower rate of cancer. As diet has a strong link to the risk of developing breast cancer so there are different recommendations about the diet plan of women to reduce the risk of breast cancer. Various researches have shown that women who add a large quantity of fruits and vegetables into their diet plan have lower risk of being affected by the disease. Women are advised to consume 5 servings per day for this purpose and 10 servings per day offer optimal health benefits. The reason to add plenty of fruits and vegetables into the diet plan of a woman is natural nutrients provided by the fruits and vegetables that play a vital role to reduce the risk of breast cancer development in women such as Vitamin E, Vitamin C and some of the photochemical such as carotenoids and pycnogenols. These all nutrients play a vital role in the reduction of breast cancer risk and among these nutrients the most popular one is beta carotene. Fiber is also important to reduce the risk of being attacked by this most common type of cancer a woman needs to increase the fiber intake by using fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Avoid the Food Rich in Fats Fat consumption can be hazardous to healthy if it is more than requirement and there are different types of fats such as saturated and mono saturated fats and research has shown that people who consume more saturated fats are overweight and being overweight is one of the major risk factors to develop breast cancer so consumption of fat-rich diet must be avoided to avoid the obesity and breast cancer so avoid the sources of saturated fats such as cocoa butter, coconut oil, palm kernel etc and the sources of mono saturated fats are olive, canola and peanut oil as they contribute to reduce the risk of being affected by breast cancer. It is advised that not more than 30 percent of calories should be based on the fats and according to some experts it must not be exceeded from 20 percent of the total calories intake. What Else Women Need To Do? Women should not only take care of their diet they should also perform regular breast exam to stay in touch with this part of the body for early detection and as women age they must go to attend the regular breast screening sessions because as they age their risk of being diagnosed with this disease increases.
