Being fearless does not mean you're not afraid of anything, but having the courage to do what you fear the most. Fear is such a controlling emotion that makes you behave in a certain way that I don't even understand. It seems like everybody has a fear of some kind, even the most fearless types of people out there. Discover how to be fearless The way I see it, fear has only one scheme, and that is to hold you back from carry out the things you want to accomplish. Think about it. If a child gets spanked after doing something delinquent, he won't do it again because he is afraid of being spanked. He gets physically hurt and doesn't want to feel that similar pain again. The same situation applies to adults, but in a psychological way. We are born in a community that is setup to sculpt you and assemble you a certain way. We grow old thinking the way society wants us to think, doing the things society wants us to do, and we get used to it. We get used to going into debt to buy the things we think we need. We get used to sending people over seas to be killed while in the military. We get used to believing everything we see in the mainstream media. We get used to thinking we cannot do anything about it. We never learn to be fearless. The benefit of being fearless A lot of times, we keep from doing or saying something out of fear of what others might think of us. We are scared to stand out and radiate, so we get used to being in the background all the time. This is how we are raised. We follow orders blindly; that's the intent of public education. School teaches us how to grow up and be well-mannered citizens, which is fine. What I thought was interesting is how the expectation of elementary is to get you ready for middle school; the intent of middle school is to get you ready for high school. The expectation of high school is to prepare you for college in order to get a great paying career. In my many years in school and college I have never been educated how to be fearless. Quite a few of us are afraid to go against the system because of what others might say about us. I'm not saying don't go to school. I'm saying look at the world from a whole new perspective. One thing that public education does not teach us is how to think for ourselves. We are horrified of trying almost everything new because our minds are so restricted by the time we matured into adults. You see, we were educated to not get passed the 'what ifs'. Learning to be fearless can give you the braveness to do what you want, regardless of what people say. When we try something new, our mind unconsciously starts to imagine the worst that could happen. One thing I noticed is how fear starts to creep up almost out of nowhere. Then before you know it, what used to be a gigantic mission is now nothing more than an note at the bottom of your to-do list that you can't even find. How to be fearless When fear becomes an obstacle, learn to see it as an opportunity to grow. Learn to face your fears. Be the kid that opens his closet door when he thinks there is a monster in there. Let me tell you what happens when you open that closet door. The monster will be gone and you won't be afraid anymore, because it's all in your head. That's what fearless is all about. Life is all about taking risks. If you don't take a risk, you will never know what could've been. Don't think about it too much, just do it. Remember that you set your own limits. Being fearless doesn't mean not being afraid, but rather having the courage to stand up to your fears and learning to overcome them. Need some inspiration? Read this amazing inspirational article.
