The TaylorMade Burner SuperFast Fairway Woods is the lightest fairway wood that TaylorMade have yet produced and continues the Burner franchise tradition of high performance for all players. This club features an improved SuperFast Technology which promotes higher swing speeds, hotter ball speed, and up to 10 yards more distance than the Burner 08 ones. It is the largest steel-headed fairway wood that Taylor Made has produced to date. The crown of the club features a glossy black paint that is filled with a honeycomb type of pattern in a feint gray color. In front of the pattern (it stops about half an inch short of the face) is a red alignment aid that is actually the Burner Logo we have grown to know over the years. The 17-4 steel Burner SuperFast fairways share the driver’s aerodynamic head shape, and this line fairway woods is more noticeable at setup and the back edge features a thin red outline that helps make the 3 wood appear more traditional when setting up to the ball. These fairway woods are phenomenally long. There are several reasons for this, and similar to the driver, it has to do with extended shaft length, lighter components, and above average balance. The shaft weighs an ultra light 48-52 grams depending upon flex. It is a genuine Matrix Ozik shaft that features a softer tip and mid-kickpoint across the entire spectrum. What the shaft also features is an extra 1/2? of length. That makes the 3 Wood come in at a full 43 1/2? of length, or basically, the same length as the old steel shafted persimmon drivers of our not so distant past.
