Mizuno MP-53 Irons come with Maximum Playability! Introducing the MP-53 irons featuring a Diamond Muscle design and “V” slot Milled Pocket Cavity. These irons have the head size, playing profile, and top line to please even the most demanding shot makers. A new diamond muscle designed and a milled pocket cavity have allowed Mizuno to add more forgiveness to a compact head. Mizuno have worked hard at the sound of the face at impact as this is directly related to feel. The pocket cavity removes 14 grams of weight and allows it to be redistributed around the cavity. The shorter irons progress into a muscle-back design for added control. The very first thing that came to mind when I saw the MP-53's was pure. Over the past few years we’ve seen anything from gel-like inserts to flashy badges when it comes to irons. Mizuno didn’t have that in mind when designing the MP-53's. The smaller head shape, clean cavity, flowing lines and high polished finish will instantly make them a classic. The 3- through 7-irons have a milled “Pocket Cavity” that frees up 14 grams. The extra mass is distributed around the perimeter and contributes to the highest MOI (forgiveness) of any MP iron. The forged carbon steel heads feature a “diamond muscle” design for consistent, soft feel. They are a good option for shot makers distinct ability to shape shots; high ball flight, particularly in longer irons. Forgiveness aplenty with unexpected distance on slight mis-hits; shots hit slightly thin carry well and stay in play. Pleasing impact sensation isn’t quite the soft, “stick to the face” feel that several testers associate with previous Mizuno irons. The MP-53's deliver exactly what they where designed for – ‘Optimized Feel, Playability and Performance’.
