Does a technophobe have to stay being employed? You may be conditioned to thinking that as a technophobe you have no other option but to stay in employment, but I am here to tell you that even the technically challenged technophobe does not have to stay in the job they hate. You can join the community of people who are liberating themselves by getting the time and financial freedom they have always dreamed of. I will explain how, but first we need to evaluate the corporate life to truly understand what you are wanting to get away from . Since, what seems the beginning of time, we have all grown up with the same thing being told to us, do well at school, graduate from University, get a good job, contribute into a pension, world hard, climb up the career ladder and then when you retire you can relax, enjoy life and do all the things you want when you want...right. Does that sound familiar to all those white collar workers in the corporate world? It used to be a great era for some where you could have a job for life, things were simple, pensions were huge etc etc. Then came the recession of 2008 that turned the world on its head, and the corporate world on its backside..Again A funny thing I read the other day was about yearly appraisals. It went on the lines of; these are times when you sit down with your line manager who tells you how your performance has been outstanding for the year, how you are a valued member of the team and how you have great potential.. But then being asked to take a pay freeze, or even a cut. Here are the Pro’s to being in the corporate world today, (Sorry I can’t think of any) Here are the Con’s to being in the corporate world today, •You get paid a tenth of what you make your employer •Your salary is capped •You have to work long hours, in a job you hate anyway •Takes decade to move up the corporate career ladder that may involve some butt kissing •You are climbing someone else’s corporate ladder •Long commutes, wasted hours behind the steering wheel, in a bus or train. •Having to work for an un-qualified boss, that you would love to give a left hook •Having to deal with all the office politics, red tape BS. •Confined office space. •Having limited holidays and family time being eaten into •The threat of redundancy •Having ever increasing targets and goals to achieve with no pay rise •Having to deal with pressure, stress, deadlines •Being micro managed and being made to feel you are at school again •Working with people you don’t like, who love to moan and winge about work •No sense of job satisfaction •No self development •Health issues that arise from working in a stressful environment. •Having your entire working life dictated to you..And having to accept it. Given all the Con’s of being employed why do the masses put themselves through it all? So the question still stands - Does a technophobe have to stay being employed? The answer is no, a big fat juicy no. Employers NEED employees to run their business’s and to make them money. The reason we do it is partially because we have been conditioned from a young age to accept this as the norm. We have been conditioned to thinking that we can’t meet out financial responsibilities unless we a steady source of income coming in. We have been brainwashed to thinking that the prime of our life has to spent working from pay check to pay check. The other part of the reason we stay in employment is that we listen to voice inside our head that keeps us in our ‘comfort zone’. Our brain is numbed into thinking that if we have a wage coming in and we can meet our financial commitments we have some- how succeeded and we are doing well in life. Never mind, metaphorically speak, bending over and taking it from life for a good 40 years. We ultimately sell our soul to the corporate devil and then moan and winge about not being happy. Ask yourself when the last time was you jumped out of bed on a Monday morning eager to get to work with a big old smile on your face, without being under the influence of drugs or alcohol !! When most people look back on their working life do they do it with a smile or a frown on their face? They may like the people they worked with, but not usually the people they worked for. We are deluded into thinking that we are not skilful enough to do anything apart from what we are used to or trained to. Especially a person who is technically challenged , when it comes to computers, even considering using the internet marketing vehicle to make a living. People believe the voice inside their head that tells them only computer geeks and scam artists can make money this way, or they listen to people in their lives, friends and family who have probably never tried doing it themselves but just heard how hard it is from a friend of a friend of a friend. I would like to let you in a little secret my friend. The voice inside your head that you listen to in life, that you think is there to protect you and keep you in your comfort- zone is actually harming you because comfort zone is another word for failure- zone. Think about it for a second. By being comfortable in life you are not stretching yourself. By not stretching yourself you are not moving forward in life. It’s like those cartoons where someone’s left foot is nailed to the floor so all the steps they take are just keeping them in the same place moving around in circles So this is where we come to the meat and potatoes of this little write up in explaining that a technophobe does not need to stay being employed. The other alternative to being employed is being an online marketing entrepreneur. With so many opportunities, and scams, out there you have to be careful who you partner up with. You need to simply copy what successful people do, and that is to get a mentor to help them become the best version of themselves. From Sports stars, to athletes, to actors, to royalty etc they all employ the services of a mentor. They copy what is being told to them. If you want to learn internet marketing you need to find and copy from proven internet marketers. Think of Luke Skywalker and Yoda, if you will, and how to become the great Jedi Luke had to be prepared and dedicated to learn more of what he was passionate about.
