Cleanliness is responsible of preventing us from having diseases and also in making our surroundings a comfortable place to live in. However, there are a lot of commercialized cleaning products that also pose a threat not only to the consumers but also to the environment. The danger of using these hazardous products sometimes prevents people from doing tasks in sanitation. On the other hand, there are a growing number of individuals appreciating the benefits of greener solutions. Benefits of Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Products: HEALTH SAFETY Cleaning chemicals are well known of being effectively used in house chores. These also have the ability to reduce the working time of the user since the chemicals react aggressively. To protect ourselves from being burnt or any harm it may cause, it is advised that we need to use gloves or masks. These are indications that the substance being handled has a high risk on the health of the user. On the other hand, natural cleaning products do not have harmful gases or odors that can be inhaled. Toxic fumes of industrial chemicals can cause headaches and even cancer while natural products do not cause skin irritations or abrasions. COSTS Industrially made chemicals require technology and materials that need maintenance and funding. This makes their products more expensive while natural cleaning supplies are more readily available and cheaper. Examples are vinegar, lemons and baking soda. ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY Most of the natural products are organic and can decompose easily. They do not cause harm to the earth’s surface because they do not deposit any material that is toxic. Nevertheless, manufactured items would not contribute in decreasing pollution but instead be absorbed in water ways and cause damage to the ozone layer. Many people do not know how it would affect the world after a long period of time but everyone is encouraged to choose green options to save the earth. ACCIDENT FREE Cleaning stoves, ovens and other appliances that can cause fire need proper handling. Some products contain components which are flammable. Alcohol content can be ignited when accidentally misused in stoves. Luckily, natural products are water based that is why cleaning is absolutely safe. EFFECTIVE USE Since commercial cleaning equipment or products may contain corrosive substances, these can damage things instead of making them want to look good. Furniture polish made from fruits such as oranges make an excellent finish to furniture and the smell of it is refreshing. Manufactured polishes can cause furniture to peel while leaving an odorous smell.
