Kaziranga National Park is an asset to the state of Assam, India. It has already been declared as a World Heritage Site and each year, a number of tourists descend to catch a sight of the diverse wildlife found here. The general topography is hilly grassland and the climate here is cool and pleasant for the major part of the year. Kaziranga is known to have highest number of tigers and it was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. As mentioned earlier, the Kaziranga is also home to the famous one horned rhinoceroses and almost two – thirds of the world’s entire population resides here. It is a treat to see these massive animals in their wild surroundings. Apart from them, there are many other animals like Indian Barasingha, which is also an endangered species; the huge Indian Elephant and leopards.
