Definition of breast cancer
Breast cancer can be best defined as the cancerous growth in the breast tissues as in this disease the cells in this part of the body grow abnormally in an uncontrolled manner that is called as non –invasive cancer if it remain confined to the place of origin and termed as invasive if spreads to the other parts of the body such as bones, lymph nodes, liver etc.
Women are at higher risk
Breast cancer is found mostly in women, however men can also develop this disease but the chances are lower fir them naturally due to some factors like the structure if breast etc so for this reason most of the women are diagnosed with this cancer as in the US one out of eight women have this cancer and this disease is considered as the most common disease of women world and is also one of the leading causes of death among women so it is alarming and women should not overlook this cruel fact and they should take precautionary measures to reduce the risk of death with this cancer as getting knowledge about the disease is of core importance for women because breast aware women can take a vital part to diagnose cancer early.
Symptoms
There are various symptoms of cancer that don’t appear mostly at initial stage and remain passive so women should get adequate knowledge about the symptoms so that they can be observed as they take place.
• Increased swelling or lumps in the armpit or breast is abnormal, however it can be due to the hormonal fluctuation as well but to see the physician is mandatory.
• If any change takes place in the size of mature breast especially when it is in one breast and is permanent then to see the doctor is essential.
• Fluid leakage from the nipple apart from the milk is a point of worry and needs immediate consultation.
• Noticeable changes in the shape or position of nipple especially when nipple does not return into its original shape again it should not be overlooked and should be noticed by the women during breast check.
• If any significant change takes place in the shape of breast it should be noticed to consult to the doctor for getting knowledge about the underlying reason of the change.
• If a woman feels that the temperature of breast is higher than rest of the body parts so she should talk to the physician in this situation.
• Rashes on the breast skin are one of the abnormal changes similarly if the dimples or wrinkles appear on the skin heck up is necessary.
These changes take place due to the cancer or due to less serious breast conditions whatever is the reason of these changes early diagnosis is of core importance because in case of early diagnosis the best treatment options can be chosen and in case of cancer the disease responds best to the disease and get cured in short span of time while in case of late detection treatment does not work effectively and survival chances are minimal as well so women need to go for every possible mean to catch the cancer development early as older women should go for breast screening even those who don’t have symptoms so that the cancer can be diagnosed when the symptoms are too small to appear on the surface.
