Most people enter into affiliate programs with the expectation of making thousands in the first month. When this doesn’t happen, they quickly abandon the program and move on to another. Unfortunately, this is true for about 97 percent of affiliate marketers. That is why only about 1 to 3 percent of affiliate marketers ever make any significant money. When you find a good product and want to carry it as an affiliate, market it consistently for about a month. Check on your statistics every week. Keep records of how many visitors that you are sending to the site and how many sales you are generating. On average, most products convert at about 1 percent. That is, for every 100 visitors that you send to the site, one of them will make a purchase. If your stats are better than this, stay with the program and continue to market it. If your stats are significantly worse, consider getting out of that program and choosing another. One technique that few beginners use is the placement of ads for their affiliate products. I have ads for my favorite affiliate products on EVERY page of my sites. Regardless of whether you are using a website or blog, make sure you display ads for all of your affiliate programs on every page. Using this technique (if you have a good product), YOU WILL MAKE SALES! So, if you have found a good affiliate product, develop some ads and put them in prime locations on your site. Some affiliate merchants provide ads, banners and emails for their affiliates. Look through those merchant advertising offerings and select some that suit your needs. If you put out a consistent effort, keep a close eye on your visitor and sales stats, and use ads on every page of your site, you can maximize your affiliate income and make a significant amount of money.
