Fashion & Cosmetics
In its simplest definition, the zodiac is the imaginary belt that encircles the earth and through which the planets, moon and sun pass during each year. The beginnings of the zodiac is in Babylonia and over the centuries has evolved into what we now know as the present-day Zodiac Symbols.

ARIES (March 21 – April 19)

The symbol of this sign is the Ram. Its origin comes from the tale of the Golden Ram in Greek mythology. Aries element is Fire and its ruling planet is Mars. This sign is associated with power, force, virility, protection, drive and fearlessness. More about Aries Symbols.

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)

The Bull is the symbol of Taurus. The sign’s origin stemmed from the tale of Europa who was dishonored by Zeus with the bull’s connivance. This sign is highly associated with stubbornness, perseverance and determination. The earth is its element with Venus as its ruling planet. More about Taurus Symbols.

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)

The Gemini Twins are the brothers Pollux and Castor who are the brothers of Helen of Troy. They were known to be the protectors of ships and sailors. The underlying emotions of this sign are independence, wittiness, curiosity, impulsiveness and indecisiveness. The air is its element with the Mercury as its ruling planet. More about Gemini Symbols.

CANCER (June 21 – July 22)

The fourth of the zodiac signs is the crab, a water sign that is rules by the Moon. In Greek mythology, the crab was sent to fight with Hercules. In Chinese, the crab is an indication of prosperity and high social status. The sign is associated with dependability, loyalty, sensitivity and selfishness. It also represents transformation and regeneration. More about Cancer Symbols.

LEO (July 23 – August 21)

The Leo’s element is fire and is ruled by no less than the Sun. In Egyptian mythology, the lion is the life-giving flood. In Greek mythology, the lion is the representation of the Nemean lion killed by Hercules. This sign is all about expanse, power, authority, control and rule. More about Leo Symbols.

VIRGO (September 23 – October 22)

The Virgo’s tale is tied up with the Queen of the Underworld, Peresphone. Its element is water with Mercury as its ruling planet. This zodiac sign is associated with compassion, reliability, thoughtfulness, precision, potential, skepticism and criticism. It is also associated with cold attitude and indecisiveness. More about Virgo Symbols.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

The seventh sign of the Zodiac is the Libra, represented by the Scales. Ruled by planet Venus, this sign is an air element and is the only inanimate Zodiac sign. Greek mythology tells that the Scales is actually made of chopped scorpion claws. This sign indicates balance, stability, justice and level-headedness. More about Libra Symbols.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)

A water element, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto. Greek mythology tells of how Gaia sent a scorpion to get rid of Orion when he was bent on killing all animals. The sign has always been associated with control, solitary, treachery, passion, sex, defensiveness and protection. Astrologers say that the Scorpio is the most powerful sign of all. More about Scorpio Symbols.

The Archer is the Sagittarius - a half-horse, half-man known as a Chiron sent to deal with the scorpion. The sign is a fire element and represented by Zeus himself. More about Sagittarius Symbols. CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)

The tenth of the Zodiac signs is the Goat, an earth element that is ruled by the planet Saturn. It is the same goat that provided milk for the infant Zeus right after being saved by Rhea from Cronos. The symbol is closely associated with curiosity, courage, sturdiness, faith, dignity, peace, virility and masculinity. More about Capricorn Symbols.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 19)

The water bearer is an air element, ruled by Uranus. It is interesting to note that the Aquarius is a Babylonian name and that in Greek mythology, the name is Ganymede, a boy that Zeus picked to be the gods’ cup bearer.
