He was exhausted to the very bone. He had been on this mission for the past couple weeks. Weeks that felt like years. He was at the pinnacle of his adventure. He could feel it the end of this road was in sight. The stainless steel key in his sweaty palm throbbed with his every heartbeat. He could not suppress his enthusiasm as finally it seemed that all of the pieces were about to come together. He had cracked the puzzle. Since his early boyhood, his Nana had cryptically said that books were treasures and that he would one day understand exactly what she had meant when she said so to him, time and time again. From the moment he had discovered the first clue, he knew he was reminded of those very times. A cold shiver had coursed down his spine. Was this it? Was that what Nana had been preparing him for all this time. Instinctively he knew that it was. The time had come and he was sure he was on the right track. When he found the library card in the box Nana had left him as a gift of farewell his suspicions were confirmed. But he would not brood on that. That would simply have been a waste of time. The moment had arrived. He tentatively walked up the stairs and into the welcoming doors. He went to the information desk and asked for a book titled The Biggest Surprise by Femme Grand’Mere, just as the letter had said. The librarian did a double-take when asked for the book. She breathed in sharply, turned silently on her heel and went to fetch the book. She started to hand the book to him, hesitated for a moment and then thought the better of it. She handed the book to him, took the Library Card and subsequently carried on with her work. As he sat down on the park bench he could wait no longer. Buy why the key? No pages. A book which was not a book? He examined it closely and found the keyhole. He took the key and slowly, petrified almost, turned the key. Seeming seamless it blossomed. His eyes sparkled and his smile had never been so broad. He took a deep breath and laughed out loud … A Book Safe is a “novel” and in-genius way of preserving you valuables without having a normal safe that can be broken into. This item is so very understated and unexpected hiding place for the things you hold in the most high of esteem. Not only unexpected and beyond question, but convenient too because in the case of fire for example, one simply picks up the portable book safe and evacuates the area leaving with your treasures in tow. No that makes sense, doesn’t it?
