In the past the bank exams were taken by the individual banks in order to fill the vacancies produced. But in the recent times the things have changed completely. Now instead of the individual bank examination, all the candidates who want to the join the Indian banking industry need to give a combined all India banking services examination which is termed as the IBPS or the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. This examination quite naturally is a very tough one where you may get selected as the clerical staff in the various banks and also as the Probationary officer to match the vacancies that have arisen. Eligibility requirements An Indian national having a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university is able to sit for the IBPS examination provided the age of the candidate at the time of the filling of the form is between 20 and 30. There is some relaxation for the reserved category candidates.
