Thousands of people start online businesses every day. I always recommend that these new entrepreneurs begin by using as many free techniques as possible. The reason for this is simple. Over 90% of the businesses that start operation today will not be in operating a year from now. That’s right, over 90% of businesses will fail in the first year. Many of these failures are due to high operating expenses. You can increase your chances of success if you minimize your expenses in the beginning. Then, as you start to make money, you can upgrade your business to paid services. 1. Start out with free hosting. There are two ways you can go regarding hosting. If you are familiar with html (an Internet language) you shoul investigate a free website. You can find hundreds of them by doing a search. Most free hosting services will place ads on your site. This is not a serious problem if you are going to develop a site using your own ads. After all, what’s one more ad? If you are not familiar with html, you should consider using a free blog. Anything that you can do with a website, you can do with a blog. In fact, many blogs are designed so that they look exactly like a website. Adding content to a blog is as easy as using a word processor. And it is just as easy to include ads, payment buttons to sell products, and any other elements you want to include. 2. Products. I recommend that you start out selling affiliate products. These are products that are developed by other people, called merchants. The merchant takes care of all the details. Your only job is to refer visitors to the merchant’s sales page. When one of your referrals makes a purchase, you are paid a commission. Affiliate commission vary between 30% and 75% of the sale price. You can find many good affiliate programs by going to ClickBank. There are a number of advantages in selling affiliate products. First and foremost, it is free to register as an affiliate. In addition, you can offer as many different affiliate products as you like; you are never under any kind of obligation.
