South Africa’s Darren Fichardt and England’s Ross Fisher look poised to top the first Re-Rank of the season, which takes place at the conclusion of this week’s BMW Asian Open, after impressive early season form has seen them climb to 30th and 32nd on the Order of Merit respectively. Fichardt, who claimed the 19th card at The European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage last November, has earned €185,464 thanks to two top three finishes, in the dunhill championship in his native South Africa and in the CommercialBank Qatar Masters, a title he won in 2003. If he maintains his position this week he will move to the top of Category 11.Masters Fisher, playing his rookie season on The European Tour, has enjoyed similar success with a joint third in the OSIM Singapore Masters and joint fourth in the Volvo China Open at the end of 2005 in what was his first European Tour event since winning his card. Fisher also finished joint ninth in the South African Airways Open and so far this season has accumulated €183,245. With John Adfors moving into Category 3 after his win in the TCL Classic, the remaining 40 players in Category 11 are vying to improve their ranking within the Category to enhance their playing opportunities for the next few months of the season. At two points during the season, players in Category 11 and 11(a)-(d) will be re-ranked as follows: (i) As at the 24th April, the top 20 official money winners from within Category 11 and 11(a)-(d) on The 2006 European Tour Order of Merit will be ranked 1-20 in money order and the remainder will follow on in the order established at the start of the season. The first tournament entry deadline to be affected will be the Andalucia Open de España Valle Romano.Golf Driver City (ii ) As at the 17th July, all players in Category 11 will be re- ranked in order of official money won on The 2006 European Tour Order of Merit.
