We are coming up on the time of year when people are taking a look back at their previous year’s living and are starting to plan out the upcoming one. Many times people feel bad that they never reached their original target. There are many plans people make, but a very common one is to lose some body fat. They decide that to become fit, they need to drop some excess flab. Most people are very judgmental toward themselves. Record your actions every day. It shows your results so you do not have to remember what happened last month or even a week ago. In other words, you should be tracking all the details of your workouts. These could include: a. Which drills were done b. Length of time for each c. Indicate the weight amount used d. Record the times of your training e. Describe your feelings f. What foods have you been eating (this can help you pinpoint some of the power foods that your body loves to give it the energy that it needs for your workouts) 2. Create objectives - this is incredibly important! If you want change, you have to know what change you want. It is important to write down your goals as re-reading them is a great reminder of what you want to accomplish. A lot of times the same blunder occurs with establishing goals. Once a goal is created, it must be remembered so that the whole creative procedure doesn’t have to be repeated again at a later date. Goals will keep you on track. 3. Ask a friend to workout with you. This way you can decide your schedule in advance. Having a partner motivates you to show up and throw away the excuses. There are a hundred reasons we can use for not following through. Helping another to reach their objectives can be the motivation to show up, where we may have cancelled on ourselves otherwise. 4. Speak to a lot of people about your plan. Being answerable to these people will help keep you on track. Tell your family, your co-workers and your neighbours that you are going to be starting a new workout program with a goal to lose weight by exercising. I assure you that those you talk to will want to know about your progress the next time you see them. Most of us don’t like to be thought of as losers, so the inspiration to stay on track and be successful is potent. 5. Pick rewards you can give to yourself in order stay positive and invigorated. There are thoughts that may hold you back; like, ‘I’m sore” or ‘it’s too hard’. Incorporating your workouts everyday will improve your life and will become something you anticipate. Having your incentives set up previously can help keep things upbeat. What motivates us may be different from what motivates others. A couple of incentives may include favourite foods, or a treatment at a spa. Payment of the prize would be given if you finished each workout for the weekly period.
