Just like every language has a certain psychology, whether it is romantic like french, passionate like Spanish or utilitarian like Korean …every beach has its own bikini culture. If you are soaking up rays in Miami, strutting in Sao Paolo or frolicking on the French Riviera you will notice a different attitude in swimwear and toward body image. While it's important to find and maintain your own style it's always fun to pick up little influences from each place you venture. Always avoid walking into a store and walking out looking like the feature display rack. This is always a major fashion faux pas. When you pick up pieces from a vacation spot they are best saved for future travels. You look more original and worldly. If everyone can visit your outfit at the local store you will end up looking like a tourist fashion victim. Make sure you have what you need in your luggage. I have packing mastered to a fine art. For the first day I always make sure I have a wrap and hat to accompany my swimsuit to avoid overexposure to the sun. I see so many repeat offenders letting the first day of vacation over stimulate and overwhelm their capacity to reason. There is nothing worse than sunburn teamed with a hangover to start off your travels. I usually choose a colour or pattern that is bright and lively to perk up my used to be my whiter shade of pale skin tone before I moved to Southern Spain. Now I can maintain a permanent base tan which I highly recommend especially if you are not used to the sun. The last day is reserved for the skimpy bikini usually in white to show off my bronzed skin and crab depleted physique. I love ethnic prints, lots of colour and to spice things up. Bikini's should be fun as should the accompanying accessories but maintaining a sense of style and individuality is always important. You should have a good sense of which styles compliment your figure, what makes you feel good and how you present yourself. Following the crowd because you are in Miami doesn't mean that you should get wrapped up and try a thong for the first time. Watch, learn, become inspired and only on the last day or two pick up a piece that will add to your swimwear collection and you can strut down your next beach looking fashionable and original. Here is your chance to go for one of my favorite swimwear trends, the ever so fabulous high waited bottom. Super glam, sexy and sophisticated. Always remember to recede one body part you need to at least slightly accentuate another. You can not drown yourself in a swimsuit or bikini, work with what you have. And finally for the bottom half. Some of us are comfortable with some junk in the trunk and others are self conscious. Nothing is sexier than feeling good about your body. Either way a voluptuous bottom requires appropriate coverage and support. A great way to keep your suit from sliding or moving around is to choose a bottom with hardware on the sides like the popular ring style for example. This will do wonders to hold it in place and prevent the infamous wedgies which are at its worst when super exposed. Boy shorts are another great option while still keeping sexy all the while.
