Capital Movies a start-up business appears to have found a gap in the market; poker. Think back to the last time we saw a good poker movie, in fact think back to when you saw any poker movie. The last one that left a mark within my mind was "Rounders". Poker is a billion dollar industry. People invest their lives playing the game, the countless tournaments, jobs, casinos and other industries that depend on poker is absurd. Yet the reason why have there been so limited films about the topic matter!? Sitting down with the Steven Farah, the managing movie director of Capital Films, his passion for this estimated soon rubbed off on me. Not just has "The Kings Guys found a niche marketplace but it has been cleverly constructed to have a range of many multicultural characters. It made me personally think of the countless London based movies that appear to only marketplace themselves towards a British audience. Steven's aim is to make a film that has an global appeal, and by utilizing London as the hub of the world this really is easily accomplished. Capital Films is currently in recasting the movie and finding finances. When bring up the topic of finance with Steven I thought it will be a delicate matter; as many indie filmmakers cringe at the thought. However this isn't the case with Steven he simply said "We ll be amazed how easy points can be when you utilise social media in today's world. YouTube has not just been a great device to tests water but it has helped gathered interest from the right kinds of individuals." I personally can't wait to the movie to come out and view a good poker movie again. I hope it lives up to my expectations.
