Sunglasses and Bikinis are like Beaches and Sand, they complete one another. Good news is you only really need one good pair of sunglasses whereas bikinis are a wardrobe and the more the merrier! Your sunglasses must provide protection from ultraviolet radiation, a component of sunlight that contributes to eye disease. You need to look for sunglasses with lenses that block 99-100% of UVA and UVB radiation. The label should read either UV 400 or 100% UV protection. Do not be fooled into thinking that expensive glasses equal good lenses. You would be surprised how many "high end" and by that I mean expensive so called fashion glasses don't have necessary protection for your eyes. Whereas a lot of the cheaper "gas station variety glasses” will have the right lenses because they can't rely on their brand name to sell the product. Of course the frames will barely hold the lenses together in many instances. It is ultra clique to get an over sized pair of shades that will also do their part in covering all of that delicate skin around the eye. Paired with a stylish bikini and cover up you will be strutting that beach like a movie star. Aviators are also tress clique and uber sexy. Just like you need to rinse your bikinis from chlorine and saltwater and wash them as delicates and with appropriate detergent remember to also handle your sunglasses with care, keeping them in their respective case when not in use, cleaning the lenses with an appropriate cloth and taking care not to scratch them. Choosing the right shape for your face is similar to choosing the right bikini for your body type. You need to take the time and try a multitude of styles and know what looks good on you. Purchasing them online is an option and one of the predominant shopping trends but first you need to establish the right shape, size and colour that suits you. If you have one great pair then you can go crazy and try something fun like red, blue or yellow or even a print like a gorgeous red and white gingham I tried on the other day but try as I might they simply did not suit me. That is not to stop them from still sitting in my head and calling my name. If you need one pair to go with everything I suggest the ever faithful black, brown or tortoise. Both gold and silver wire frames like you would see on aviators for example also work well. Wearing make-up to the beach or poolside is a faux pas unless you have a good reason like say a bikini photo shoot for an editorial. Otherwise, you should just have a moisturizer with protection and your trusty pair of sunglasses. I often wear mine from the time I wake up to the time the sun goes down. I like to protect my eyes. As an artist and writer I put my eyes to work and often through slave labor for many hours a day, straining and focusing. I thank them by treating them to a luxurious pair of shades with a protective lens. Even when the sun is not blaring which here in the Mediterranean is most often is. I wear my sunglasses because the UV rays are there regardless. Even in the office when I am on the computer. Granted sometimes my office is poolside under an umbrella with my laptop. The only thing missing those days is a hunky pool boy but then I wonder how much work I would actually be accomplished. I could enjoy the view without obviously ogling that is for sure which brings me to the next point. A dark or mirrored lens is always best when considering glasses. It reduces a lot of the strain and looks uber cool. That's it for this week, Here the author says Harris Symonds about bikini swimwear. For more details please visit www.bisou-b.com
