I always wondered why nurses have alternative attire whenever they're in the operating room. They have these clothes called nursing scrubs and I think they don’t really look that good. They're too bland and plain and they even look like they're just clothes that you usually wear in the house. I have a sister who's a nurse and she actually explained to me why they wear these kinds of clothes. Nursing scrubs are mainly used by nurses in operating rooms and other intensive areas because of hygienic purposes. These suits are usually made out of cotton. A good property of this fabric is that it's not too porous. This means that less dirt would seep into the fabric. This makes it very easy to clean as you could easily scrub off dirt from the fabric, hence its name. This doesn't exactly mean that scrub suits are very clean; they're just very easy to clean. In terms of their colors, scrub suits generally look plain because bright hues usually cause eye strain on doctors. That's why many scrub suits may have different colors but most of them aren't that sharp and defined. So there are good reasons why scrub suits don't look good.
