Nowadays veterinary technicians are of great demand and honor among other professions. Why is it comes so? The answer is very simple as at present times people adore their pets and wish them to get the best medical services. They consider their favorites to be the family members and take care about their beautiful life to the smallest detail. Sometimes they love them as their own children. That`s why they pay great attention to the veterinary hospitals and especially to the veterinary technicians who examine and cure their pets. The vet specialists must be qualified, certified and the most important conditions – animals loving and caring. The veterinary technician duties include not only their professional tasks and skills but also some extra activities. Firstly, the vet specialist should take care about the animal, to make vaccination, to give medication and perform other types of treatment. Sometimes veterinary specialists should provide also the comfortable conditions for the pet`s staying at the clinic. Secondly, the owner of the pet is not less important and the veterinary hospital worker should pay much attention to him or her personality. That is to provide all comfortable conditions to the Client. Many students want to enter the educational establishment for the specialization of the veterinary technician. For that purpose one should remember that the veterinary student should have good command of math, anatomy, chemistry, and biology knowledge. That will help the pupils to enter the college or the university while passing exams or applying. For the future veterinary technicians it is very useful to take part in the volunteer activities. The main goal for them should be getting as much knowledge about this kind of profession as possible. For that reason they should try to become a volunteer in some veterinary hospitals or animal shelters or some other establishments. The experience of working in such organization will give the strong image of the general work, its peculiarities and difficulties, the general process and its conditions. Where to find the volunteer work? Many educational establishments provide the list of the organizations that invite volunteers. And after such a testing you will know for sure whether you chose the appropriate future profession. So as the veterinary technician as other human doctors have to be completely sure in the things he or she does, the medicine he or she prescribes. Vet doctors have to be confident in the methods he or she uses and providing curing. The Owner of the pets should completely trust the doctors and that`s why you should be confident in your abilities and skills. To instruct the Owner how to take care about the animal, how to feed and to cure is important very clearly and understandable. Another function of the veterinary technician is filing the patient`s information. The doctor should keep the necessary data about all the procedures taken about the pet and all the prescribed medicines. So the specialist should be attentive and competent in this part of work. But the most important function of the veterinary technician is to collect and test the specimen samples. This procedure must successfully be performed by the doctor as this is the most important devise of getting the answer on the health questions about the animal. The technician should prepare the operating room and all the needed instruments very carefully. He should be completely aware of all the procedures and if necessary to perform operation only with the assistance of the other specialists. Many veterinary technicians perform the teeth cleaning for the animals. This procedure is provided in many veterinary offices by the qualified specialists. Pet owner should keep I mind that this procedure should be handled at least once a year. The veterinary technicians should take care about its career as this job is needed and popular. The vet specialists can find jobs not only in the veterinary hospitals but in the zoos, animals shelters, wildlife habitat. Some military establishments and organizations also need the veterinary specialists as they have the dogs that need care and curing. As we may see the profession of the veterinary technician is rather hard and responsible and gives many career opportunities. One should carefully consider before entering the educational establishment for this specialization and studying hard and applying.
