Bangkok Attractions draw many people to this busy city. The city of Bangkok is the gateway to Southeast Asia. It’s the capital of Thailand, also know as the City of Angels. Bangkok is a place that you love or hate, but there is always plenty to do. It is dirty, polluted, and congested with traffic. That being said Bangkok also has a lot of variety which can be appealing. There are some nice hotels, MBK mall, the financial district, Khaosan Road (a backpacker haven), parks, monuments, a palace, and plenty of temples. Bangkok Thailand - Bangkok is a very popular stopover location. It’s the perfect place to stock up on supplies at the Chatuchak weekend market or MBK mall. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here than most likely it’s not in Southeast Asia altogether. Besides the amazing markets and shopping malls, Bangkok also has an excellent diversity of food options. Ranging from local street stalls to high end restaurants, you can find whatever you are in the mood for. Another reason Bangkok is a popular destination is because just about every country has an embassy here. You can get your visa to whatever country is next on your itinerary while indulging in shopping, food, or in one of the many tourist traps Bangkok has to offer. For us two to three days is plenty, but we are not big city people. Bangkok definitely should not be missed just stay for whatever amount of time you choose! Eating in Bangkok Thailand Restaurant - There are a wide variety of restaurants and places to eat in Bangkok. For those on a tight budget it’s best to stick to Thai food. Khaosan road is filled with street vendors selling pad thai, rotis, chicken sticks, and other delicious Thai favorites for about a dollar. Food courts, markets, and restaurants geared toward Thai people are going to have some of the best food around for very low prices. A good rule to go by is if the Thais are eating it you probably should be too! There are also more than enough mid-range to high end restaurants all over Bangkok. Most of these restaurants offer Thai food as well as Western items on their menu. There are also plenty of restaurants specializing in Indian, Vietnamese, Korean, and pretty much any other kind of food you are looking for. Most restaurants have menus right outside their restaurant so you can look at their food choices and prices before sitting down. Thai’s cook with a lot of mono-sodium glutamate (MSG). If you’re allergic or it gives you headaches, we recommend you ask a Thai person who speaks English well to write down no MSG in Thai. Show this paper before every meal and you should be fine.
