One question many affiliate marketers struggle with is how they can increase their income with affiliate programs. Because affiliate marketing is not as easy as it is made out to be I think this is a fair question. Let's analyze 2 ideas you can follow to drive more affiliate sales and therefore make money with affiliate products. 1. Get your own website for each product. One of the first things I was taught over 10 years ago was the importance of building your own website as opposed to promoting your affiliate website. I would like to take it a step further and now suggest that you target specific products by building your own website around them. Internet marketing is too competitive to expect to rank large portal websites that are full of various affiliate products and programs. The advantage of building a unique niche website is you can quickly drive traffic by ranking in the search engines. Even with the many changes Google has been making in the past year, unique niche websites that contain useful information, have continued to rank well. One advantage to this strategy is you can develop your sites faster and make money on them quicker. If you set up free blogs using the blogspot platform I am finding that Google is more than happy to rank you more quickly than the old strategy of building hundreds or thousands of backlinks before you see any results. 2. Offer more than the merchant provides. This is a strategy that I see big time affiliate marketers use all the time. They will find an affiliate offer that is really good, and then they'll throw in their own bonuses to encourage you to purchase from them. Of course people who are just promoting their affiliate sales page are not going to be able to complete with you when you approach it this way. One of the best things about affiliate marketing is you can build an email list and drip information on your product. What you're really doing is developing trust with your subscribers and giving away things for free is a good start. Save your big bonus for people who actually step up to the plate and make a purchase. One of the best bonuses I see people act on is when you do things for them. Consider the products you're selling and how you could possibly enhance them by making the lives of your purchaser easier. The affiliate marketing business model continues to work well for people who do it correctly. However, I have found there are skills needed to compete online and make money with affiliate programs.
