Following on from my previous blog on Adams Golf’s irons, here is what I thought about the hybrid golf clubs. Barney Adams, the man responsible for Adams Golf and the hybrid golf club, has seen his greatest success in his hybrid designs from the day the first one was launched up until the present, and I can certainly agree with that. Once again, all of the hybrid golf clubs have been designed with the clubhead matching the shaft characteristics to ensure the best launch and spin levels possible. IDEA a7 hybrid golf club I really liked this hybrid. It was extremely easy to hit and the ball just leapt off the clubface. The premium UST Mamiya ProForce AXIVCore Black 85g shaft is also a bonus especially at the price-point. The loft variations (17, 19, 22 and 25°) in the IDEA a7 work into your set as 5-wood, 3-iron, 4-iron and 5-iron replacements. Great for mid to low handicappers. Check out the IDEA a7 hybrid webpage to find out more. IDEA a7OS hybrid golf club This hybrid can either be bought as an individual club or form part of the IDEA a7OS iron set as replacements for the 3, 4 and 5-irons in the set. I struggled slightly with this club as the shaft was too light and not stiff enough, however I could certainly see how higher handicapped players would benefit from the club’s design. It launched the ball nice and high with ease and the rounded head promoted a distance-enhancing draw. Check out the IDEA a7OS hybrid webpage to find out more. IDEA Pro Black hybrid golf club I really liked this club and the stats speak for themselves. This has been the number one hybrid golf club on the US Tours with over 300 in play to date. The clubhead is slightly smaller and more compact then usual, but this helps to make it feel more like an iron. The loft variations (16, 18, 20, 23 and 26°) work into your set as stronger than normal wood and long iron replacements but end up hitting similar distances due to better players tending to hit down onto the ball more smoothly. Check out the IDEA Pro Black hybrid webpage to find out more. IDEA Tech V3 hybrid golf club I was fortunate to hit this club as it has yet to be launched in South Africa. This hybrid offers you so many different options for your bag setup thanks to the numerous loft variations. And this also makes it suitable for players of all levels. All you need to do is find the right shaft from the four different options and then choose the loft. It’s easy to hit, very forgiving and even miss-hits travel far. Check out IDEA Tech V3 hybrid webpage to find out more. Adams Golf will be releasing yet another hybrid golf club this month, the IDEA Pro A12, which I cannot wait to get my hands on. According the company this is the best players hybrid to date and should be making its way into many pros bags fairly soon. Next week I will run you through my thoughts on the Adams Golf Speedline fairway woods and drivers, but for now go and try one of the Adams Golf hybrids. You will be pleasantly surprised.
