I don’t know anyone made of money but I do know a few that seem to have plenty. But most of us don’t so it’s important for us to shop around for the best deals for whatever we want to buy. It is no different when you are looking to buy a bicycle. Even though you might not have much money to spend, let me assure you that you can still buy a good bike for an affordable price. The key is to know where to look. And eBay bikes is the best place to start looking. There are plenty of good deals out there you just need to find them and recently one of the most popular places to find great deals for almost anything imaginable has been eBay. Some sellers really have their own online bike shop while others are simply selling their own personal bike that they no longer have any use for. When buying on eBay you can look for items that are a “buy now” purchase or you can enter an auction where you are bidding against other buyers. However there are two things to make sure of: you set yourself a price that is your top bid otherwise you may pay more than you wanted to, and two find out what the shipping costs are and consider them a part of the price. But this can back fire as you can put in a maximum bid which doesn’t show but the computer can put in the counter bid for the other buyer and you have no time to respond. One of the problems with this new world of electronic commerce is that scammers can flourish and can be protected by a firewall of anonymity. They can also cut and run with the speed of a few keystrokes. Although eBay is a tremendous site to the used-bike shopper you do have to be careful. I have made all kinds of purchases on eBay though and everyone I have dealt with were totally above board but there are those out there whose only care is to try and get your money. Keep in mind “If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is”. Also be aware that conventional wisdom is sometime overlooked in the excitement of the auction. That is why it’s important to deal with known people or people that have a good reputation as much as possible and to set limits and stick to them as much as possible.
