Egypt has been a popular holiday destination amongst us Brits for a number of years. This is no surprise when you consider some of the unbelievable attractions that the country has to offer. However, since the political turmoil during the Arab Spring, the holiday industry in Egypt has not yet recovered. To give an indication of why Egypt is a fantastic place to visit and to paint a picture of the stability the Egyptians now have in their nation, we have compiled a list of three fantastic reasons why you should get yourself out to Egypt this year: 1. Last year staged the successful uprising of the Egyptian population in protest to the dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak. For a number of northern African countries, last year was a huge year in terms of politics and in the overthrowing of outdated regimes that had long over stayed their welcome. In the case of many countries that were involved in this so-called Arab-spring, political unrest is still rife and they are still along way from considering themselves as a stable country. Egypt on the other hand was the most efficient in their disbanding of the current government, and has quickly returned to a relatively stable political situation. It is an incredible feeling to witness a country that has been through such political turmoil so recently, and the atmosphere in the country is palpable as a result of this. It is still evident that the majority of the population are delighted by what has happened and there is still an atmosphere of celebration in the air. 2. The second attraction is the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt, an unbelievable attraction in its own right that is responsible for a huge number of visitors each year. The water in the Red Sea is some of the clearest in the world and allows you a fantastic opportunity to snorkel or scuba dive amongst some incredible coral reefs, seeing some very rare tropical fish in the process. 3. The third attraction is an obvious one that cannot be ignored when looking into visiting Egypt. It is, of course, the world famous pyramids and sphinxes that have been a part of Egyptian history since around 2500 BC that is some 4,500 years. The pyramids are an unbelievable attraction, and a must see. The construction of these incredible landmarks has baffled scientists and when you see them in the flesh you will immediately understand why.
