Liverpool is renowned for having a vibrant nightlife and music scene, in previous years it has been named the ‘City of Pop’ simply due to the amount of number one records that have been produced by artists hailing from the city. Their fame stretched so far and they were so versatile that they composed everything from pop ballads, to psychedelic rock. With the first hit, ‘Love Me Do’ putting them on the map The Beatles went on to release 22 singles into the UK charts, of which a staggering 17 were number one records. Cumulatively they have also held the number one spot longer than any other act. With such a history in music and so many current events, attractions, and venues it’s not surprising that so many people choose Liverpool for a night out.
