On the other side of the coin, there are quite a number of Scrabble enthusiasts who wouldn’t hesitate to using any of these aids to improve their score and gameplay. The question now is, should you or shouldn’t you use a Scrabble helper? Looking at it from the perspective of the purists, using any such tool does seem to belittle the time they’ve spent practicing their skills. In order to play a great game of Scrabble, one does not rely on luck or vocabulary alone. There are also some who view the use of these tools as adding more fun and challenge to the game. One can’t deny that getting to play a high scoring word from seemingly unrelated letters can be entertaining. It also does create a challenge to beat someone using such a tool or to see which one of you has the better tool. For a good number of players, a Scrabble helper is considered a tool for learning. With a word finder, you can easily learn new words to add to your vocabulary. You will also slowly learn how to recognize letter combinations and great word opportunities. Some particular online tools can even help you learn how to strategize. And let’s not forget motivation. Some players feel more motivated to learn after seeing how a simple word can effectively improve your score. Looking at it from this side, it does seem that they have truly valid reasons for using a Scrabble helper of some kind. Taken together, what do these all mean? Should you or shouldn’t you use a Scrabble help tool? Ultimately, it will depend on you and your opponent. Looking at it from both sides of the coin, it seems that the best way to answer this conundrum is to simply ask if both players are comfortable with one or both of them using a Scrabble helper. Should one be against it, the other player should simply forgo its use for the meantime. But if both players are agreeable, who are we to say anything? As long as both parties are honest and upfront, this problem isn’t such a problem after all.
