There are a multitude of articles, stories, essays etc. listed out there in one market or another for readers to pick from. So the question then becomes how to persuade your readers! It's a good idea to begin with asking yourself a series of questions. This will help you to organize your thoughts and ideas on what direction you may want to take the piece that you are going to write. Ask yourself questions like: What is it I want my readers to understand? What is my point of view on what I am writing about What is my target audiences' point of view Can I see it from their way of thinking? Who are my target readers? Where are they? These are just some of the questions a writer uses as means to write a good and persuasive article; story etc. There is a lot of competitiveness within the different writing markets. Do you believe in the idea of what you're writing about? How strongly is that belief? That can make the difference in whether the reader wants to continue to read or buy or otherwise agree or engage with you. Think about your specific reader's way of seeing things. Understanding where they are coming from will help you to get and keep their attention. If you don't then they will not be persuaded because you wrote with eyes that only saw from one point of view which was your own. Persuasive writing or writing to capture a reader's attention must be geared towards what it is that they can relate too. From there you can develop a path that is better for you to get them to understand where it is you are trying to get them to go. If you are not clear in stating your ideas and the readers are not able to understand how you came to reach your point of view then all of your attempts to persuade them won't work. Writing in a style that is meant to get the attention of readers in order to persuade them of a particular point of view is "trying" for a writer to put it mildly. If you enjoy a written challenge it can be very interesting and rewarding. online writing
