The grand launch party of the new gourmet Spanish restaurant was hosted by JW Marriott Mumbai hosted in association with Ms. Chhaya Momaya.Owner of six eminent restaurants around the world and a promoter of Spanish cuisine, Chef Sergi Arola is known to be a trend-setter when it comes to foodie delights. And with Arola coming to your city, authentic and creative Spanish delicacies get a new address! So this is good news for you because another Spanish restaurant in Mumbai is ready to serve you. Talking about the guest list, who’s who from swish set attended the gala party. Seen enjoying themselves were Akshay Kumar, Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal, Lillette Dubey, Aditi Deshmukh, Gayatri Oberoi, Daboo and Manisha Ratnani, Rashmi Uday Singh, Sanjeev Kapoor, Jatin Kampani, Mamta Dalal, Sheetal Mafatlal, Ash Chandler, Shaan, Rahul Dev, Negi, Namrata Shroff, Shruti Seth and Dhanish Aslam, Aarti and Kailash Surendranath, Simone Singh and Fahad Samar. Speaking about the festival, Chef Christian Huber, Chef de Cuisine, Alto Vino, Pune Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre, says, “Tutto Funghi, which in Italian means ‘all about mushrooms’, is a 10-day festival at Alto Vino, celebrating the versatility and variety in mushrooms”. He continues, “Mushrooms are an integral part of Italian cuisine. In Italy, people often actively hunt for edible mushrooms in the wild. This usually starts in August once the season sets in. The heady flavours lend themselves generously to all the dishes. Mushrooms are also high in fibre and vitamins and low in cholesterol and fats.” “In India, one is generally familiar with only a few kinds of mushrooms such as button and shiitake. At Alto Vino, we shall try to give our patrons a taste of the unusual by serving mushroom varieties that are not easily available off the shelf.
