At times we take our Digital SLR Camera for granted, and keep using it again and again for making our moments special. We scan those images with a scanner or a film scanner and print them for posterity. But we never stop to think, have we ever made them feel special by taking care of them? If your answer is a no; soon you will have to bear costly repercussions. Isn’t it your daily routine to come from a hard day of shooting, lash out the memory card, check out your images and then, forget about the maintenance of your camera and its family/ (kit)? It’s the same case with all of us. We buy something new (laptop, car, mobile phone or watch), clean it every day quite religiously, and then it boils down to a week, a month and then, forget about it! Those involved in photography as their daily source of bread and butter or (pizza and burger) should grab some moments daily! Clean each and every piece of equipment that has been used. It is very important to take care of the kit as it may have cost thousands or (lakhs) and the longevity of the cameras depend entirely on its maintenance. Cleaning and Maintenance of your Click Baby- Lenses It is quite important to clean the glass of the lenses as it makes the lenses quite expensive to repair or replace. Make sure that you use only good tissue paper and some alcohol solutions that are specifically designed for the Digital SLR Camera optics. Clean the front and the rear sides by using a blower brush to remove any kind of dust particles or grime. Clean the Camera Sensor The story of sensor and accumulated dust goes a long way back. Let’s go back to the story some other time and let’s focus on the cleaning part! Clean the dust in the sensor with some professional help as cleaning yourself can injure or damage the sensors and thereby cause greater damage. Don’t Forget the Accessories and the Kit Take Care of your Accessories It is very important to take care of the accessories and the bag for the purpose of longevity. Clean up the battery, speed light, remote switch and prevent any buildup of dust and dirt. If your bag is dirty then it is a sure shot way for your camera equipment to get infected with dirt. You sure will feel good if you make it a regular habit and follow it unfailingly. Your images will come out clear and then you can scan those images with a scanner or a film scanner and print them and see how good it feels!
