If your bathroom is small and crammed, chances are that you will not have the rejuvenating shower that you had hoped for. On the other hand, if your bathroom is spacious and nicely designed, your spirits will be lifted thus ensuring that you will have fulfilling day ahead. Remodeling a bathroom is not as expensive as renovating a lounge. Therefore, if your bathroom has not received a facelift in the last 5 years, it is time that you had a full bathroom renovation. Illustrated herein, are steps on how to remodel a small bathroom on a shoestring budget. Steps #1: Bathroom Layout Begin by taking into consideration the layout of the room accessible to you. If you are renovating a bathroom of an old house (i.e. a house that was constructed between 1960s and 1970s), it is important to put on safety gear so as to safeguard yourself from asbestos. #3: Plumbing Start the renovation by extending the width of the bathroom by one meter. This can be done by borrowing space from the adjacent room. Once that has been accomplished, proceed and do the plumbing work. Since you will be installing flick mixers, you have to install fresh copper pipe. The same applies to any other electric device that you would like to install, for example, instant shower heater. One the plumbing and electrical work is finished, proceed and install the new window. #4: Wall Lings & Shower Installation Build the doorless walk-in shower. Thereafter, reline the bathroom walls by making use of a six millimeter villa board. Secure them in place using a nail gun. A space of roughly 150 millimeter should be left in-between the nails. Exercise caution so as not to puncture the water pipes. #5: Bathroom Drainage Next, install bathroom drainage pipes. The drainage should be built in such a way that the toilet, shower and bath are connected. Once the drainage work is completed, waterproof the entire bathroom. The waterproofing should be done up to 100 millimeter up the walls. Waterproofing of the shower ought to be done up to 21 cm above the shower head.
