He finished with a final-round 66 on Sunday for an 18-under 270 and cruised to a two-shot victory in the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro. Former PGA champ Al Geiberger, the original “Mr. 59,” won in 1976. “I didn’t want to call him because he was on a roll and I didn’t want to jinx him,” Al Geiberger said from San Antonio, where he played in a Champions Tour event. “It’s just wonderful to see him win in the same place that I did.” Michael Allen birdied the final hole to finish second, and he earned enough money to secure his playing privileges for next season. In other tournaments Els claims Match Play title — Ernie Els won the World Match Play title for a record sixth time on his 35th birthday, beating Lee Westwood 2 and 1 to capture golf’s biggest payday — $1.8 million. Els completed his victory with a 20-foot birdie putt at the 17th hole in Virginia Water, England. This was the third straight time he won the event, matching his three titles from 1994-96. McNulty blows away field — Mark McNulty shot a 6-under 65 to win the SBC Championship by eight strokes over Gary McCord, the largest margin in a 54-hole Champions Tour event this season. McNulty, a tour rookie from Zimbabwe, finished the tournament at 18-under 195 for his second victory this year and a top prize of $225,000. Garcia prevails — Sergio Garcia shot a 3-under 67 to finish at 268 and post a four-shot victory in the Mallorca Classic in Pula, Balearic Islands.
