A new study says that a high number of today’s condominiums will greatly deteriorate in fifteen to twenty five years after they are constructed and some studies show that even earlier. The principal reasons for such worries would be the issues related with water leaks, improper insulation, and thus maintenance costs will start skyrocketing. The second big problem would that all of these previously mentioned issues vastly contribute to the rapid decline of the resale price. According to the construction professionals, the possible repairs these buildings will need to get in the future would be in hundreds of thousands of dollars and therefore some constructors have named these glass-walled condominiums an "one-use buildings" due to their rather poor durability when compared to buildings that have walls made of bricks or concrete. Glass walls that are used in modern condos are considerably cheaper than other materials usually used as walls and they are also able to create an amazing and sophisticated impression but the sealant in the windows is prone to deterioration caused by freeze-thaw cycles and sudden temperature changes thus resulting in more hot or cold air getting into the buildings. Despite all these apparent and sometimes even visible negatives, condominiums are enjoying an extraordinary boom on the Toronto Real Estate market and according to the new MLS listing the prices are still on the rise. It will be exciting to watch how long will this current trend continue.
