A man by the name of Daniel Chavez Moran started the tourism revolution in Mexico when his company, Grupo Vidanta, took control of various developments aimed towards enticing travelers to set foot inside the country limits. Moran came from Guadalajara and is now a renowned property developer in Mexico. Now, Moran uses his time to check up on his different hotel resorts and supervise his employees who come in thousands. Before becoming a full-time philanthropist, Chavez Moran was recognized as one of the top 100 most important businesspeople in Mexico. Moran is a civil engineer who received his diploma from the University of Guadalajara. Real estate development became his thing when his first resort, the Paraiso Mazatlan Resort, was completed when he was only 22. When his company, Grupo Vidanta, turned thirty he decided that it was time for them to give back. Several years ago, the Grupo Vidanta Foundation was started and this organization focused on improving conditions in Latin America. In this case, the group is making an effort to find solutions to political, economic, and social issues while providing the people an avenue by which they can learn more about things like culture and social science. According to Moran, there are plenty of economic strategies that Latin America can benefit from. In this part of the world, the economy can really be depressing as Moran describes. One of the main issues with the economy that is being faced by Latin America pertains to lagging productivity. The lag problem is something that the group is concentrating on and they are trying to find the reasons behind such an issue. The ongoing inequality is what Moran sees as one of the potential reasons behind such an economic downfall. Aside from social injustices, there are those that involve the economy as well. Inequality in income is perhaps the most damaging because many people can't hold jobs that are needed by international companies in these modern times. There are times when children have no avenue of learning and because of this, they fail to become productive adults. Due to this, there is a lack of jobs for people who are considered unskilled. One of the many things that have to be changed according to Moran is the educational system if people wish for the economy to improve. Even the educated Latinos living in the US often fall behind whites and Asians in terms of employment. According to Moran, it is necessary for the inequalities and social issues in Latin America to be addressed if the people want positive changes to happen. Providing quality education should be at the top of the list of legislators. In this case, the failure to provide good education should no longer be ignored. When it comes to Latin America though, there is still hope. Countries like Brazil are starting to address issues pertaining to the economy by hosting sports events and such. For Moran, he has high hopes for Latin America. He has made plenty of contributions already and he is not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
