Will you be rocking to Samba’s beat? A brand-new, free 3G mobile cheap broadband service has just been launched in the UK. The free service Samba is completely legitimate and above board and is free of cost – provided you are prepared to frequently watch a continual stream of adverts. Free mobile broadband – at a price... Subscribers to Samba have to purchase a SIM-card for £2.99. If they also require the use of a dongle, they are available for £20. After this, subscribers must install an app on their iPad or a web browser plug in if working from a PC. This generates access to adverts from companies who have put their name forward for the scheme. Samba is sharing network giants 3’s mobile cheap broadband system; and viewing 2.5 minutes of adverts per day will build up over 500mb of data on the network-system every month. Whilst there is no underlined credit card limit, advertisers can choose the number of times each video can be watched. How else can you get credit? • If a subscriber purchases a product from one of the advertisements, they will accumulate additional credit. • On the other hand, users can increase their credit with a simple cash top-up. What’s the catch? There are, of course, a few ‘small-print’ details to note regarding Samba. Certain sites that hold pornography, offensive content or flout copyright laws will be unavailable to subscribers. Furthermore, Samba states that it may install cookies that gather data and information entered into certain websites, and also keep records about ‘general internet usage.’ This includes; traffic data, location data, weblogs, URLs, search terms and other communication data and resources that you access. Company founder, Ben Atherton, said: “With Samba, you earn the credit watching advertisements at a time convenient to you and then access when you need it. It also marks an end to that hunt for a coffee shop, pub, hotel, or library to get online.”
