Teachers believe that the first grade sight words enlighten kids about a number of words, which are referred to as Dolch words that were compiled in 1948. The basic idea behind the process is to help kids master the art of reading successfully. The list is prepared with much research so that kids recognize and spell the words or expressions instantly. To jazz up the process, let them cut out the expressions from papers or magazines. Ask the little students spell them loudly. You might create fill in the blanks for those expressions and let the kids fill them up. Use those words or expressions in sentences and write them up on board. But make sure you are writing the spellings wrong because this will help the kids recognize the errors and rectify them. Thus, it is the best way of helping children get acknowledged with those expressions and get used to them quickly.
