We are repeatedly asked, “What is the general cost for a private jet?” The answer is and will always be that it varies on the type of aircraft, origination, destination, number of passengers, and the time of year. Pricing for is on a per trip basis. Yes, there is ballpark pricing available $2,200 Light / $3,000 Mid/ $4,500 Super Mid/ $5,000+ Heavy / $18,00 Airliner - These prices vary on a trip by trip basis and have a two hour minimum Every aircraft is made differently and is affected by fuel and flight efficiency. A Boeing Business Jet does not have the same technology, use, operating costs and charter costs as a Phenom 100. Obviously, this is an extreme case comparison of a very heavy jet airliner to a very light jet. Now, the Hawker and the Lear may not be that different but still, the operating and fuel costs may vary. Origination also plays a part in the pricing of the aircraft. It is more expensive to charter a jet in lower density cities because of the frequency of use. You may also have to pay a repositioning charge if you would like a certain type of aircraft. For example, if you’re flying from Philadelphia to Santa Rosa, California, the charter cost is higher than if you were to fly into Oakland. This is because there is lower density traffic in Santa Rosa. Are there exceptions to this rule? Yes. This is why every private jet charter flight must be priced out to find the cost of that trip for that given date. Please see our article on Market Pricing to understand why and how the pricing changes. If you are flying slightly beyond regional - for example, from San Francisco to Houston - and you have a light jet price at $2,200 per hour, you may need to stop or go to a midsize jet at $3,000 per hour. If you are flying across the country and your preference is to fly nonstop, then a super midsize is needed. Let’s say you are flying to Europe on a super midsize jet pricing of $4,500 per hour. If your preference is to travel nonstop, then you will need a heavy jet at $5,000+ per hour. We prefer to price every trip because prices change, the market changes, and the availability of aircraft changes. Depending on your aircraft preference and refueling stops, we may be able to obtain either one-way or roundtrip pricing for you. Every private jet trip is different and our main priorities are your enjoyment and your safety. If you have questions about private aircraft or air charter, please do not hesitate to contact us.
