There are two kinds of living styles for human beings. The first lifestyle is living like grass. Although you live and grow very day, but you still a grass after all; you absorb rain, dew and sunshine, but you can’t grow up. People may step on you and never feel painful because of your suffering and never show mercy for you because you are being trampled on. On the contrary, even if you are nothing now, as long as you have the seed of trees, you will absorb nutrients of soils like stones and grow up day by day. Maybe you can’t grow up within 2 or 3 years, but you can certainly grow into a tall tree. After that, people will catch sight of you even in the distant place. When people get close to you, they will be cool under your shadow. Even though people leave you, you are still the most beautiful scenery on earth when they look back. When you are alive, you are beautiful scenery, and even if you are dead, you are still pillars of society. It is very troublesome when you live for others, because others’ criteria is different from yours. If you don’t insist on your pursuits, your dignity and self-esteem won’t be guaranteed. For us, the best way to maintain dignity is to have a dream and we can start running after it by the most basic procedure. For example, if you want to take the place of me and become the chairman and CEO of New Oriental, you should have enough mentality, methods and mind. People who want to finish one thing immediately have no basis, which just like building stone houses on the beach, where earthquakes usually happened. Hence, If we want to make things truly successful, we should do things step by step, which will lay a solid foundation for ourselves. Besides, when you establish your goal for all your life, you should unswervingly continue to do fight for it instead of changing it casually. You can be like a flowing stream, which becomes wider, but you mustn’t want to become another river or a tall mountain. Once establishing a goal, your life won’t shake any more. Finally, the difference between greatness and commonplace lies in their way of living. On one hand, a common person led a trivial life, but the so called great people establish a great goal, accurate experience everyday and make the goal become a great career.
